Nick Schifrin is the foreign affairs and defense correspondent for PBS NewsHour, based in Washington, D.C. He leads NewsHour's foreign coverage and has created in-depth, week-long series from China, Russia, Ukraine, the Baltics, Kenya, Nigeria, Cuba, and Egypt. The PBS NewsHour series "Inside Putin's Russia" won a 2018 Peabody Award and the National Press Club's Edwin M. Hood Award for Diplomatic Correspondence.

Prior to PBS NewsHour, Schifrin was the Middle East Correspondent for Al Jazeera America and the Afghanistan/Pakistan Correspondent for ABC News. Schifrin is also a Council on Foreign Relations term member and an Overseas Press Club Foundation board member.
