The first in-person meeting of the Center for Media Integrity of the Americas’ Board of Advisors was held on December 5th and 6th, 2022, in Washington, D.C.
The advisors, all recognized and prize winning media professionals, discussed and designed the CMIA's strategic plan for 2023, including its seminar content. Advisors also discussed the Center's guiding philosophy, and developed ethical and transparent donors policy. They also reviewed the CMIA's planned conferences and public-facing events for 2023.
Advisors also met with the Secretary General of the Organization of American States, Luis Almagro, as well as the Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Brian A. Nichols and State Department Undersecretary for Public Affairs and Public Diplomacy, Liz Allen.
"Rarely have I had the privilege of such intense, intellectually stimulating, and frankly, fun conversations on the major issues confronting media and journalism today."
John Feeley - CMIA Executive Director
