On October 18, we formalized our agreement to work with UNDP on journalism related to development issues. Future seminars and conferences will focus on how development experts can better communicate their often arcane and academic work to a general public, while journalists will learn from CMIA advisors and University of Maryland academics how best to cover issues surrounding poverty, inequality, lack of access to basic services, health and climate change and mitigation. UNDP’s Assistant Secretary for Latin America Michelle Muschett and CMIA’s John Feeley expressed their organizations' mutual satisfaction and eagerness to begin work together.
